This Powerpoint presentation can be used as an introduction lecture for an low-level biology class, either in high school or college. The Powerpoint gives a broad overview of some of the important concepts in biology, beginning with the characteristics of life. Each of the levels of biological organization are outlined, from a molecule up through the entire biosphere. The steps of the scientific method are also covered, along with the difference between a hypothesis and theory. The lecture ends with a few examples of some of the major fields of study in biology, such as taxonomy and genetics.
