Percent Yield
By using stoichoimetry, we can predict the amount of product that will form in a chemical reaction, based on the amount of each reactant that we are starting with. This predicted amount of product based on stoichiometry is called theoretical yield. When the experiment is conducted, the actual yield is the measured amount of product you physically have at the end. In this worksheet, students calculate how much of the expected product was actually made by a reaction. This is percent yield.
