Municipal and Hazardous Waste Lecture Powerpoint
This presentation takes students through the different methods of municipal waste disposal, from open dumps to sanitary landfills to incinerators. Alternatives to landfills (recycling, composting, etc) are explored, with an emphasis on the integrated waste management model. The Khian Sea incident is used as a demonstration of what can go wrong when there is no clear waste disposal strategy. A student notes outline is also available for this lecture.
