Environmental Science Geography Review
Map Activity

This assignment is meant as a precursor to the land biomes and aquatic ecosystems chapter. The goal is to review some major geographical features with students, so they have a better context to draw from when learning about the location of the Earth's deserts, mountains, grasslands, and forests.

Click here to access the blank maps that I use for my students. I print these on 11x17 legal size paper so the maps are big enough for them to easily label while still being printable with standard copy machines.

Students will need a set of globes or maps as reference. My personal favorite are The Physical World Maps by National Geographic. If you don't physically have these in your classroom, you can find versions on ARCGIS, such as this one.

Essential concepts:Geography, lakes, oceans, mountains, plains, forests, deserts.
