A wide variety of coasts exist in the miles of shoreline between the ocean and continents. Rocky shores, brown sandy beaches, white beaches, black beaches, mudflats, and others. Each presents its own unique challenges to the organisms living there, and the resulting biodiversity can vary tremendously.
